Eton Manor 7
Letchworth Garden City 29
(London Two North)

AFTER booking their place in the Essex Senior Cup final last week, Eton Manor were brought crashing back to earth against Letchworth Garden City.

A somewhat depleted Manor side battled gamely and tackled well in difficult conditions.

In particular number nine Reece Reed had an excellent game and was prominent throughout before adding the consolation conversion to David Hanna's late try.

By that time Letchworth were out of sight with 29 points on the board.

In the first half tries from Gavin Donald and Simon Hill, the first of which was converted by the former along with a penalty gave the visitors a 0-15 lead.

After the interval further touch downs came via Giles Cooke, Donald, both of which were converted by the latter to put Letchworth in control, before Manor added their consolation score.

Reflecting on events Manor coach Ged White said: "Not wishing to make excuses but last weeks semi-final against Barking took its toll on us and we were missing several key players."

The New Wilderness outfit will be looking to bounce back this weekend, when they host National League outfit Southend in the Essex Senior Cup.

If you want to go along to support the club, kick off is at 2.30pm at Nutter Lane, Wanstead.
