Ongar Juniors 1
Chelmsford Youth 0
(Chelmsford Youth League Under-12 Cup final) ONGAR Juniors won their fourth succesive cup final in a hard-fought match at Billercay Town.
They had to toil for their victory and were put under a lot of pressure in the opening 15 minutes.
But Ongar started to relax and play their own game with chances falling to Thomas Lapslie and Christopher Walling.
Ongar had a good shout for a penalty turned down early in the second half when Lapslie was brought down by the keeper.
However, they did make the breakthrough when a great ball from midfield found Chris Walling.
He made ground and let fly with shot that the Chelmsford keeper could not hold with the ball spilling over the line.
And with Jamie Wright and Lewis Hagland then defending solidly, and Henry Angove pulling off a great late save after a mistake allowed Chelmsford through on goal, Ongar held on for victory.
The team, coached by Gary Albert, consisted of Henry Angove, Jamie Wright, Ronny Jenner, Harry Kindell Brown, Harry Cochrane, Dominic Corcoran, captain Jordan Albert, Mathew Williams, Lewis Hagland, Thomas Lapslie, Joe Emmet and Christopher Walling.
Juniors still havew the chance of a league and cup double if they can win their remaining games.
