A UK rapper has been charged after reports of a fight that led to two women being hospitalised.
Lady Leshurr, whose real name is Melesha O’Garro, was videoed during her arrest shortly after a fight in Leyton on Saturday, October 22.
Police were called to Knotts Green Mews off Lea Bridge Road at 5.08am after a fight is reported to have broked out in the residential street.
The Birmingham rapper, best known for her Queen’s Speech songs and who also starred in Dancing on Ice 2021, was arrested along with another woman.
Lady Leshurr was charged with two counts of assault, while the other woman was charged with one count of assault.
In footage of the arrest, the videographer can be heard screaming “free up” and “I rate your music”.
Two women, both 27, were taken to hospital and have since been discharged.
Lady Leshurr is due to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court today (October 24).
