Seven people were evacuated from homes after a horrifying roof collapse.
Fire crews were called to a a mid-terraced house converted into flats on Blackhorse Road in Walthamstow at 9.40am today.
Firefighters led a woman to safety after most of the roof of the building collapsed into the loft space.
Four adults and two children were evacuated from adjacent properties and a 25-metre cordon was put in place as a precaution.
The London Fire Brigade says the incident was over for firefighters by 12.27pm.
A London Ambulance spokesperson said that one woman was assessed at the scene, but she required no medical attention.
Two fire engines from Walthamstow Fire Station and a fire rescue unit from Edmonton Fire Station attended the scene.
Bus routes including the 158, 230 and W11 are being diverted in the area.
The Sun newspaper has reported that the area is expected to be shut for 48 hours. The Guardian Series is attempting to confirm this.
