A pop-up foodbank will appear in Walthamstow later this month to "unite the borough" during the holiday period.
Waltham Forest Islamic Association is collaborating with Waltham Forest Council to run a pop-up foodbank to help those suffering amid the cost of living crisis.
The food bank will be open on Saturday, December 17 from 10am to 5pm in Grove Road in central Walthamstow, helping people with the financial challenges of the festive period.
Organisers encourage anyone who needs food to come and collect some from the same venue - no questions asked.
A spokesperson for the food bank said: "This is open to all faiths and none.
"Anyone and everyone who requires help is welcome, including refugees."
Here is how organisers ask for your help:
- Donate long-life food or products.
- Donate money online (remember to Gift Aid where possible) - the Waltham Forest Islamic Association will use the funds to buy food wholesale on your behalf. They ask that you please donate early to allow time for delivery.
- They need people who can help move food around from drop-offs to collections.
- Visit the Waltham Forest Council stand at the venue for advice & information to help with the cost of living emergency.
