A wintry scene at the war memorial in North Chingford in the 1920s.
It was erected in 1921 to honour the 242 men who had fallen in the Great War.
The memorial takes the form of a Celtic cross on a tapered shaft mounted on a plinth with a two-stepped base.
It’s Grade II listed and further names were added after the Second World War.
