A 19th-century pub in Wanstead is welcoming customers after a month-long closure to refurbish the venue.

The Cuckfield, situated in Wanstead High Street, was a former 19th-century coaching inn, even having stables at the rear of the building for the patron's horses.

The facelift has kept the Victorian style.

The pub has a large front room as well as a separate room that leads out into a beer garden and conservatory.

The Cuckfield has an overall capacity of 300 people and has had additional soft furnishings and an outdoor dining area added, as well as two new bars and more seating. 

It serves pub favourites including pale ale and steak pie, fish and chips prime steak burgers and a range of Sunday roasts.
