A nostalgic view of Albert Crescent, South Chingford, in 1939.
The Crescent was built in the mid-30s along with the Odeon Cinema.
The cinema was noted for its art-deco lines dominated by a tower and is said to have been one of the best examples from the time.
Today the Crescent may have lost some of its charm, but it’s still a bustling shopping area.
