A man is in a critical condition while another adult has also been hospitalised after being involved in a crash on the A406.
A police spokesperson said they were both taken to hospital early this morning (February 11) after a crash near the Crooked Billet Roundabout in Walthamstow.
The spokesperson said officers were called at 3.15am, attending the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade.
Road closures remained in place for much of the day, with severe delays affecting traffic as far as the Redbridge Roundabout.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 3.15am today (February 11) to reports of a road traffic collision on the A406 near Crooked Billet Roundabout, E17.
“We sent a number of resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, two medics in fast cars and an incident response officer. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance by car.
“We treated a man at the scene before taking him to a Major Trauma Centre as a priority.”
Any witnesses are being asked to call the police on 101, using the reference 978/11feb.
