We reported on a highly acclaimed Turkish restaurant opening a new branch five years ago this week.
A Turkish restaurant rated by many critics as London’s best has opened the doors to its latest branch in Walthamstow.
Gökyüzü launched in the former BHS store at The Mall last week, its third restaurant after sites in Harringay and Chingford.
The family-run restaurant, owned by the Yavuz family from Maras in Turkey has won multiple awards for its kebabs.
The restaurants have received wide acclaim and press coverage, in The Times, the Daily Mail, and Time Out.
Food critics for the Evening Standard last year rated Gökyüzü the second best restaurant in London after TV chef Gordon Ramsay’s Michelin star-rated Petrus in Belgravia.
Gökyüzü Walthamstow’s owner, Veysel Yavuz, commented "We're delighted to finally open our Walthamstow restaurant.
“A tremendous amount of hard work has gone into getting the venue ready, and we're looking forward to welcoming our new customers to dine with us."
