Nearly 100 years separate these photographs of Old Station Road.
The picture of Old Loughton fire station and town hall in Old Station Road was taken sometime after it was built in 1934.
The livery on the side of the fire engine says ‘Chigwell UDC Fire Brigade’ as Loughton was amalgamated with Chigwell and Buckhurst Hill to form one urban district council in 1933.
Sainsbury’s now stands on the site.
