Nearly 75 years separates these pictures of Loughton High Road near Brooklyn Avenue.
The south side of the road remains much the same as the c1950's picture except for the change in shop fronts.
Fine country houses once stood on the north side, but these were swept away in the 60s in favour of more retail which we see today.
