The Loughton War Memorial was unveiled on June 24, 1920 by Lord Lambourne.
The memorial on King's Green lists the names of armed forces personnel who died in the First and Second World Wars.
Additional names have been added over the years as previously unknown casualties have been discovered.
The cost of the original memorial and the bronze plaques attached to it was reported in 1920 to have been £800.
