Over 100 years separate these pictures of Loughton Post Office.
These premises started out as a tailor’s shop in 1832 with a letter box for receiving mail.
The shop was eventually converted and the front became a postal business.
By 1908 the shop was too small to keep up with the growing demands of its Loughton residents, so the Post Office was moved to larger premises in Forest Road.
