This comes after a survey from international football union Fifpro found that 76% of players identified workplace safety and health as a growing concern.
The survey was of 41 national players' unions and indicated the stress players are put under by supporters after an increase in physical and verbal attacks after the Covid pandemic, The Guardian reported in January this year.
West Ham fans had an average of 32.83% of negative comments and posts in their main fan forum, topped only by Newcastle United which had 33.63%.
The Hammers fans' score was just over 2% higher than London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, ranking eighth, which was at 30.56%, according to SeatPick.
