A man has been stabbed to death after a reported fight in Leyton.
Police were called to South Birkbeck Road at around 11.15pm yesterday evening (April 18) to reports of a fight.
At the scene, officers found a man, who is believed to be aged in his 30s, suffering from stab injuries.
Despite the best efforts of paramedics from London Ambulance Service (LAS) he died before he could be taken to hospital.
A police spokesperson said that the man’s next of kin have not yet been informed and that a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. He was taken to an east London police station, where he remains.
There is still a crime scene in place in South Birkbeck Road.
