A murder investigation has been launched after two people were killed in a house fire in Walthamstow.
The latest update from the Met Police comes after firefighters from the London Fire Brigade (LFB) were called to a home in Forest Road at 10.24pm on April 21.
It took two hours to put out the fire and two people were found dead.
Police have now revealed they believe the cause of the fire is deliberate, sparking a murder investigation to be launched.
Det Ch Insp Matt Webb said: “We believe that there may have been an incident outside the address in Forest Road before the fire started and I am very keen to hear from anyone who witnessed something or perhaps has doorbell or dashcam footage.
“Two people’s lives have been cut short as a result of this fire. If you have heard something or have information relating to the incident please don’t hesitate to get in touch.”

Detectives are now working to identify the deceased so their families can be notified.
