A London Overground line was shut for more than three hours after a “casualty on the tracks”.
British Transport Police (BTP) officers were called to Highams Park station at around 7.15pm yesterday evening (May 2).
Paramedics from London Ambulance Service also attended reports of a casualty on the tracks.
A BTP spokesperson said that a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
They added that the incident is not being treated as suspicious, and that a file will be prepared for the coroner.
Overground trains between London Liverpool Street and Chingford were cancelled until around 10.30pm following the incident.
