A section of the London Underground will shut for four weekends during June and July 2024 to allow for a station to be upgraded.

Trains will not run on the Northern Line between Golders Green and Edgware over these weekends to allow for Colindale station to be upgraded.

This will impact the Brent Cross, Hendon Central, Colindale, Burnt Oak and Edgware stations.

Southbound services from Golders Green are not affected and are expected to continue as normal.

Works on Colindale station will involve getting a new building that replaces the current entrance along with a more spacious ticket hall.

Alongside that, a lift is being added, along with more cycle parking and retail space within the station.

Colindale station will be closed from Friday, June 7 and is expected to reopen in December 2024, according to the TfL website.

What weekends will the Northern Line be partially shut?

The first closure between Golders Green and Edgware will take place on the weekend of June 8-9.
