Pupils at a primary school in Walthamstow have won an award for being "eco-champions".
Henry Maynard Primary School scooped the regional winner title in the Primary Awards for Green Education in Schools (PAGES) 2024.
Their two projects, Kitchen Garden and Y1-6 Sustainability Curriculum, beat competition from schools across central and southern England in the Green Creators category.
The PAGES competition, run by the Young People's Trust for the Environment (YPTE), saw 35,000 children participate this year.
Henry Maynard’s new sustainability curriculum educates pupils about the climate crisis.
Also, thanks to their kitchen garden, children have been learning about food's origin, plant care, healthy eating, and sustainable food practices.
As a reward, the school will receive £500 towards more green initiatives.

Peter Littlewood, YPTE's Director, said: "We were really impressed with the school’s new sustainability curriculum.
"They have a fantastic eco celebration for Earth Day each year too, with a fantastic exhibition of the children’s learning for parents to see."
The school's achievement in the PAGES competition highlights the impact of environmental education, and sets them apart as a inspiring example for other schools.
