A road has been shut by firefighters after a blaze broke out at a house in Walthamstow.
Waltham Forest Council posted to X just before 4.30pm this afternoon (July 7) to warn that Fulbourne Road had been shut due to a fire.
The authority urged people to “avoid the area if possible”. Around half an hour later, the council confirmed that the road had been re-opened.

Videos posted to social media showed at least two fire engines and an ambulance at the scene.
Smoke could also be seen streaming from the first floor windows of a house in the road.
The closure of Fulbourne Road forced the detour of bus routes 212 and W16.
London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade have been contacted for more information.
