A dramatic photo provided by the London Fire Brigade (LFB) shows a burnt-out flat above a shop in Walthamstow after one person was rushed to hospital.
The LFB attended a fire above Forest Bike Repairs in Forest Road after being called at 3.58am today (July 21).
Seven people left the flat before firefighters arrived, LFB said.
In the blaze, most of the second floor flat was completely destroyed, as the photo shows.
One person was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews and a further two people were treated at the scene.

The fire is being treated as accidental and is believed to have been caused by the unsafe use of candles.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: "Candles are one of the most common causes of fire. It’s really important that you never leave a candle unattended and keep them away from anything else that can easily catch alight."
Officers extinguished the fire by 5.23am after crews from Walthamstow, Leyton and Woodford fire stations attended.
