The order means officers present have the power to disperse groups or individuals causing or who are likely to cause harassment or distress to others.
Those ordered to leave the area must do so for up to 48 hours or be liable to arrest.
It will affect Woodford New Road to Walthamstow Marshes and Forest Road Junction with the A406 to A12.
Walthamstow MP Stella Creasy wrote on X: "Please note section 60 now issued for our area and bus station will be closed from 6pm.
"Please get home safely and please look out for each other - it’s what we do best and why they won’t win!"

The order grants officers the power to stop and search anyone within a specific area without needing to have reasonable grounds with which to do so.
Businesses in Walthamstow have been preparing since the early afternoon, with some taking precautionary measures to board their shopfronts.
Residents have been warned to steer clear of Walthamstow Central Station, in particular from Selborne Road, and Hoe Street from Queens Road to Church Hill.

Cllr Clyde Loakes, deputy leader of Waltham Forest Council, said: “The council’s message is clear: anyone who is thinking of coming to Walthamstow town centre today or anytime to incite or undertake any sort of violence, racism, or hatred is not welcome here.
"Whatever comes to pass this evening, we will remain united and together.
“We are well prepared for any potential disorder. Please stay safe and let’s stay true to our values. Fellowship is life.”
