Some eagle-eyed Londoners have been left in shock this morning, September 19, after they spotted a car on the side of a chimney.

It's well known that parking in London can be tricky, but this Nissan Qashqai has taken it to new heights after it was pictured hanging from a chimney.

'Parked' on the Truman brewery chimney, Brick Lane, Shoreditch, passers-by were left scratching their heads as to how it had gotten there.

It’s made from fibreglass, is one and half times the size of a normal Qashqai, measures 6.5 metres in length, 2.7 metres in width, and 2.4 metres in height - and weighs 750kg.

The model car, which took around seven weeks to make, was hoisted into position using two cranes before being installed on the 49-metre-high 200-year-old chimney.

With around 50 people involved in the planning and activation of the stunt.

It will remain on the chimney until Sunday [September 22] and is part of an ongoing campaign to celebrate the launch of the new Nissan Qashqai, which is manufactured in Sunderland.

A spokesperson for the car manufacturer said: “We’re very proud of this British-built model and wanted to show it off for everyone to see.

“So, we figured why not park it in a place where it can’t be missed.”

To date, more than four million Nissan Qashqai have been made in Sunderland since the first ones rolled off the production line in 2006.
