Commuters in east London and south Essex will face a series of disruptions this week due to engineering works across the c2c network.

Some services will be diverted while some stations will not be called at, affecting evening and Sunday travel routes.

Be sure to check out alternative routes, taking note of shuttle services and rail replacements in place.

Monday - Thursday (September 30 - October 3)

Engineering works from 8:40pm between Fenchurch Street and Barking/Upminster will mean services will be diverted to Liverpool Street calling at Stratford, but not Limehouse or West Ham.

Stations affected by these service alterations include Fenchurch Street, Barking, Limehouse, and West Ham.

Additional alterations from 10.45pm will mean services are diverted between Barking and Pitsea via an alternative route, and will not call at Upminster, West Horndon, Laindon and Basildon.

Shuttle train services will, however, run between Upminster and Pitsea via Laindon.

Ticket acceptance is also offered on District line services between Tower Hill-West Ham-Barking, Jubilee line services between Stratford and West Ham, and DLR services between Tower Gateway-Limehouse-West Ham/Stratford.

The Ockendon c2c line will also be affected by works each evening from 8.40pm, with services between Upminster, Ockendon, Chafford Hundred and Grays running as a shuttle.

Affected passengers should change at Upminster or Grays for services towards London and Southend.

Sunday (October 6)

Service adjustments due to engineering works continue on Sunday.

Works between Basildon and Leigh-on-Sea will mean services start and end at Basildon.

Services to Liverpool Street will be diverted to Fenchurch Street and will also call at West Ham - but will not call at Stratford.

Affected stations include Chalkwell, Westcliff, Southend Central, Southend East, Thorpe Bay and Shoeburyness.

Again, passengers have alternative options.

They can use rail replacement operating between Basildon and Leigh-on-Sea.

Additionally, a shuttle service will be in operation between Leigh-on-Sea and Shoeburyness.

During the same time, there will also be engineering works that affect stations between Stanford-le-Hope and Pitsea.

Services will therefore start and finish at Grays.

Those who require Tilbury Town, East Tilbury and Stanford-le-Hope should use Rainham line services.

More engineering works between Stanford-le-Hope and Pitsea mean that services will be extended to Stanford-le-Hope, and call additionally at Tilbury Town and East Tilbury.

Passengers requiring stations towards Southend should use replacement services between Stanford-le-Hope and Leigh-on-Sea.

A train shuttle will run between Leigh-on-Sea and Shoeburyness.
