The Bell Inn on Epping New Road, seen here c1902 was built in 1900.
The new inn replaced a much older country inn of the same name.
Local legend states that infamous diarist Samuel Pepys stayed at the Inn in 1663.
Today the building is overshadowed by a modern motel block.
