This rare picture of Market Terrace in Station Road Chingford was taken around 1895.
A street-sweeper goes about his work, whilst onlookers seemingly pose for the camera, giving us this snapshot in time.
The parade on Station Road has been North Chingford’s main shopping centre for almost 150 years which meant no one had to leave the village.
