Londoners have taken to social media site Reddit to complain as influencers 'ruin' a local 'hidden gem'. 

It comes as one Reddit user was rounding up the best restaurants in the capital serving up steak sandwiches.

The list saw the popular chain Angus Steakhouse take the top spot as the number one place to go in London, but that's left some London locals very upset.

One took to Reddit to share their distress, claiming that influencers have ruined Angus Steakhouse in London.

Londoners complain Angus Steakhouse ruined by influencers

Taking to Reddit, the user wrote: "Easily the best steak sandwich in London, it went viral an hour back due to some cabbage-headed microbe doing the whole "which Angus Steakhouse does the best steak sandwich" thing on Reddit.

"Last 2 times I have been there has been a queue of over 200 people, and the ones with the food are just doing the selfie s**t for their insta pages and then throwing most of the food away.

"I mean, these people are acting like literal locusts. Absolutely livid I am.

"Yes yes, old internet man yells at Cloud."

The joke-esque post saw many people feel the Reddit user's pain, gaining more than 6.3k interest and 470 comments.

One joked that Angus Steakhouse is, in fact, mega pop star Taylor Swift's favourite place in London, sharing: "It was bound to happen, apparently it’s Taylor Swift’s favourite place in London to eat, so the influencers were going to discover it eventually."

Another said: "This is the greatest thread I have ever read. Finally, people recognise just how good Angus Steakhouse is. Proper sandwichs for proper Londoners."

Angus Steakhouse might not be ruined by influencers as the restaurant has long been popular, opening back in 1968 and still serves many happy guests across London to this day.
