A 19-year-old man has been taken to hospital after a stabbing in Leyton.
Police were called to reports of a number of people in possession of knives on High Road shortly after 7pm today (October 29)
London Ambulance Service crews also attended and found a man who had been stabbed.
He was taken to hospital for treatment where his injuries were assessed as non life-threatening.
Officers were also informed that gunshots had been heard in the vicinity of the stabbing.
There are currently no reported injuries in relation to this incident.
A crime scene has been put in place and officers remain in the area.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: "Police were called shortly after 19:00hrs on Tuesday, 29 October to reports of a number of people in possession of knives on High Road in Leyton.
"Officers attended. A 19-year-old man with a stab injury. He was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service; his injuries are not life-threatening.
"Police were subsequently informed that gunshots had been heard in the vicinity of the stabbing. There are no reported injuries in relation to this matter.
"A crime scene is in place and officers remain in the area.
"Anyone with information is asked to call police via 101 quoting CAD 6537/29Oct."
