A motorcyclist has died after a crash which blocked the M25 for four hours.
The motorway was closed clockwise between J25 Waltham Cross Interchange by Enfield, Hertford A10 and J26 Waltham Abbey Interchange at 1.25pm yesterday (October 30).
The rider, a 30-year-old man, was found injured, however, he was pronounced dead shortly after.
Despite the M25 fully reopening four hours later, there were still delays lasting at around 8pm.
An Essex Police spokesperson said: “The road was closed for several hours while emergency services worked to investigate and make the area safe.”
This was the first of two fatal crashes in which a motorcyclist died on the M25 yesterday
There was a crash on the clockwise carriageway of the A282 at around 2.30pm and the rider, a man in his 50s, was found injured.
He was pronounced dead shortly after.
An appeal has now been launched regarding the Essex crash for anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward to Essex Police.
