A police investigation has launched after fireworks were shot at police officers patrolling in Waltham Forest.
The incident happened between the KFC on Lea Bridge Road and Dunton Road in Leyton yesterday (November 5).
The Metropolitan Police says these were thrown directly at officers at the scene that night.
Superintendent John from Waltham Forest Safeer Neighbourhoods said: “The perpetrators of this offence had little regard for my officer’s safety, something which I take extremely seriously.
“Such behaviour is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
“We have CCTV footage of the incident and we are working with our partners at Waltham Forest Council in order to establish the suspects identity and hold them to account for their actions.”
Anyone with information or CCTV of the incident is asked to call police on 101 quoting CAD 8075 5/1124 or contact @MetCC on X.
Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
