M&S is set to open a new supermarket in Leytonstone next year.

A new 12,000 sq ft M&S Food store is expected to open in High Road, Leytonstone next summer.

Inside, customers will find an in-store bakery serving a variety of pastries and bread.

There will also be a takeaway coffee station, dedicated flower and wine shops, and a selection of fresh, seasonal fruit and vegetables.

Customers will be able to pick up online orders from the store’s click and collect point.

Nick Pucci, regional manager at M&S, said it's "fantastic" to be opening the new Leytonstone store next summer.

He said: "We’re known for that touch of M&S magic, and I’m pleased to say there will be plenty of innovative new products on offer, alongside fantastic quality and value that we never compromise on.

"We want to deliver the best possible shopping experience and we can’t wait to start work here in Leytonstone and join the local community."

Councillor Naheed Asghar, cabinet member for inclusive economy at Waltham Forest Council, said: "It’s great news for local people that M&S Food will open soon in Leytonstone town centre.

"We expect M&S to help attract substantial extra footfall into Leytonstone town centre, resulting in more visitors to local independent shops, bars, and restaurants.

"The improved retail offer will make the area an even more attractive visitor destination, reaching far beyond those Leytonstone locals who already know the gems we already have."

The new M&S will work with food redistribution platform Neighbourly to select a Leytonstone charity to donate any edible surplus food to.
