A "pest issue" at a supermarket in Chingford has forced the store's temporary closure.
Morrisons in Chingford Road has been issued with an emergency prohibition notice by Waltham Forest Council.
It follows reports of a pest issue inside the store.
Cllr Khevyn Limbajee, cabinet member for community safety, said: “Under food hygiene regulations the council has served a hygiene emergency prohibition notice to temporarily close the Morrisons store in Chingford.
"A court hearing is due imminently. We are unable to comment further at this time.”
It is understood that the store has been closed to customers since yesterday (November 6).
