A man in his 20s has ben taken to hospital after a shooting in Leyton. 

Officers were called to reports of gunshots heard in St George's Road at around 6.10pm yesterday (November 27). 

London Ambulance Service crews also attended and found a man who had been shot. 

He was taken to hospital where his injuries were assessed as non life threatening. 

Two people have been arrested in connection with the incident and police enquiries continue.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: "Police were called at about 18:10hrs on Wednesday, 27 November to reports of gunshots heard in the vicinity of St George's Road, E10.

"Officers attended and found a man, aged in his mid-20s, with a gunshot injury.

"He was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service; his injury is not believed to be life-threatening.

"A crime scene is in place.

"Two people have been arrested in connection with the investigation and enquiries continue.

"Anyone with information is asked to call police reference CAD 5779/27Nov."
