A MAN taking his pet labrador dog for a walk has fallen through some ice on a pond in Wanstead Flats.
Fire crews rushed to the scene, near Aldersbrook Road, to rescue him.
It is the latest incident in a string of falls on icey ponds across the area.
At least two other people have fallen into Hollow Pond on the Wanstead and Leytonstone border within the past 24 hours.
A spokesman for the London Fire Brigade said: "We have attended four incidents in the past few days where people and pets have been trapped on ice.
"Although frozen lakes look like fun ice it is exceptionally dangerous and very thin.
"Our advice is for people to stay off icy lakes and ponds as the ice is likely to break and you could find yourself in serious difficulties.
"Warmer weather is forecasted over the coming days and this will cause added dangers as the ice will melt and anyone standing on it may fall through.”
