MOTORISTS were stuck in seven-mile queues after an accident closed the M25 in both directions.

Two lorries collided between junctions 24 and 25 near Waltham Cross, in Hertfordshire at about 2am.

The road was closed in an anticlockwise direction from Epping to Potters Bar and in a clockwise direction between Potters Bar and Waltham Cross for more than 11 hours but has now re-opened.

Nobody was hurt in the horrific accident, which saw one lorry overturn in the central reservation, shedding its load and hitting several lamposts.

A Highways Agency spokesman said debris were spilled across both carriageways and more than 100 metres of crash barrier were down.
