TWO people have been arrested by police after around 270 cannabis plants were found growing in a Woodford Green home.
The pair, a 58-year-old Vietnamese man and a 35-year-old French woman, have been charged with cultivation of cannabis and abstracting electricity after the discovery last Tuesday (January 6) at an address on Wansford Road.
A police spokeswoman said: "Police located mature cannabis plants in a 1st floor bedroom the newer plants being in another room.
"The property was fitted with a ventilation system, heating equipment and UV lighting.
"The suspects had managed to abstract electricity from the main supply and EDS were required to dig up part of the road to repair the damage."
The pair have been remanded and are due to appear at Redbridge Magistrates Court soon.
