A BUS crashed into a McDonald's restaurant in Walthamstow, causing traffic chaos during rush hour.
The double decker 97 service swerved off the road as it made its way along Hoe Street soon after leaving Walthamstow Central bus station at around 6.20am.
Three people, including the bus driver, were taken by the London Ambulance Service to Whipps Cross University Hospital in Leytonstone with minor injuries.
No-one was trapped inside the bus.
Hoe Street was closed at the junction with Church Hill and Selbourne Road.
Fire crews from Walthamstow, Leyton and Edmonton attended the scene.
It is not known what caused the driver to turn off the road but no other vehicle was thought to be involved.
No arrests have been made.
Mark Arnott, crew manager of Redwatch Walthamstow, said: "There were people inside the restaurant when the bus struck.
"If it had been another time of day it could have been really serious."
The bus has now been removed and the road re-opened, but police are still investigating at the scene.
