TWO top students from Trinity Catholic High School in Woodford Green are celebrating after winning places at Oxford and Cambridge Universities.
Megan Evans, 18, will get the chance to study law at Newnham College, Cambridge, and Sinead McVeigh, 17, has been offered a place at St Edmund Hall, Oxford to study Philosophy, Politics and Economics.
Sinead said “I was delighted when the letter arrived offering me a place to study PPE at Oxford.
“Up until that point going to Oxford had only been a dream. Now the hard work continues to make sure I get the grades to take up this fantastic opportunity.”
Megan said “I didn’t think I had much of a chance of getting into Cambridge but my school encouraged me and made it all seem a lot less daunting.
“I’ve wanted to go to Cambridge for years so I’m absolutely delighted to have got in.”
Thrilled Director of Sixth Form, Rob Healey, said the entire school was delighted with the pair’s success. He added: “Those who receive an offer from Oxford or Cambridge are amongst the brightest and most able young men and women anywhere.
“What Sinead and Megan have achieved is fantastic and we are extremely proud of them. ”
