A DISABLED pensioner was killed in a “vicious attack” during which she was repeatedly stabbed, police have said.
The 62-year-old local woman was found by police in the driving seat of her black Vauxhall Corsa, in the parking area of her flat in Hadley Grange, Harlow, just after 3am on Saturday.
She was suffering from multiple stab wounds and died of her injuries a short while later in Princess Alexandra Hospital.
A 68-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Police officers are carrying out house-to-house enquiries in the area and a forensic examination continues.
Investigating officer Detective Superintendent Tracy Hawkings said: “This was a violent attack on a disabled woman as she sat in her car near her home.
"I appeal to anyone who was in the area in the early hours of Saturday morning to contact us.
"Any piece of information may be the vital clue which helps us solve her murder.”
Anyone with information should call Harlow Police on 0300 333 4444 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
