A MEMORIAL service is to be held for a man who died after being struck by a train.
Robin Pye, 54, who was being treated at Naseberry Court psychiatric unit in Chingford, died on the tracks at Highams Park station on the morning of February 3.
Commuters at the station that morning reported seeing him climb down onto the line and wait for the train to hit him.
The service will be held at Buckhurst Hill Baptist Church in Palmerston Road on March 9 at 10.45am.
Mr Pye’s cousin Frances Duff, 48, said: “We went along to the station as we heard there had been a lot of floral tributes put down.
“It must have been quite a traumatic experience for people who were there.”
Those who witnessed Mr Pye’s death have been invited to come to the service if they feel they might be comforted by it.
