Jake Bass, five, was one of a number of young visitors to a special week of Tudor-themed events at the Epping Forest District Museum on Sun Street, Waltham Abbey.
Families flocked to the museum to hear a special performance of Tudor Harp music by Richard York on Saturday, February 28.
They also learnt how to make Tudor Pomanders, tried writing with traditional feather quills and Tudor braids.
Education and Outreach Officer Catherine Hammond said the event was very popular with young and old visitors.
She said: “The children really seemed to enjoy it, they got to grips with the quill pens, although I think they found it a bit difficult at first.
“They also produced lovely pomanders and the music performance really got the children involved too.”
