MORE than 40 fire fighters tackled a blaze at a scrap yard which took nearly three hours to put out.
Emergency services from Harlow, Ongar, Waltham Abbey, Brentwood and Epping were called to the blaze in North Weald where the yard was well alight at 10am this morning (March 8).
Cylinders were found to be involved in the incident at Chase Farm Business Park, Vicarage Lane, North Weald.
Crews worked to stop the fire spreading and managed to extinguish it by 12.49pm.
They then damped down the area to ensure it was safe, finally leaving the scene at 3.23pm this afternoon.
A fire investigation officer was called to the incident to find out the cause.
