VOLUNTEERS are needed to help at the Loughton festival held during April.

Duties would include setting up venues, selling tickets and delivering festival programmes.

Festival Director Sue Taylor said: "We need people to come forward to offer an hour or two, or more, to enable us to run all of our events this April. Volunteering with the Loughton Festival gives so much back too. In the last two years, two people found full time work using the skills they developed as volunteers assisting the festival over a number of months. Another person returned to full time study and some of our retired volunteers have discovered new talents, and made new friends."

Not enough people have come forward to help so far, putting some of the plans at risk.

Many of the events will raise money for charities such as the RNLI and the Royal British Legion.

Ms Taylor said: "This year will be more ambitious than ever but we do need volunteers of all ages to give us a hand."

Some of the events include walks, concerts, shows, talks and an auction introduced by a local celebrity, all held in the Loughton area.
