AN UNIDENTIFIED body has been found hanging from a tree in Roding Valley Park, South Woodford.
On February 26 a local workman found what appeared to be a human body and alerted Ilford police.
Officers attended the location at around 11.20am to report that the body, hanging 15ft up the tree trunk, was severely decomposed and unrecognisable.
The deceased appeared to be an adult aged from 18 to 60 years old with long brown hair but it was not possible to determine its sex or ethnicity.
The body was wearing a blue Tottenham jacket, black jeans, and white trainers.
A blue Apollo mountain bike and a black rucksack were lying next to the tree where the body was found. No suspicious evidence was found at the scene.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: "This is one of these sad cases where he or she may have been reported missing but unless the description above is given the identification of the body will be very difficult."
Ilford Police Station is asking anyone with information to contact them on 8345 1611.
