A WALTHAM Forest Councillor has been selected as the Conservative prospective parliamentary candidate for Walthamstow.
Chingford Green ward councillor Andrew Hemsted will attempt to win the seat for the Conservatives at the next general election.
Former Mayor of Waltham Forest Stella Creasy is the Labour candidate, following the retirement of sitting MP Neil Gerrard, while former banker Farid Ahmed is standing for the Liberal Democrats.
An election must be called by June next year.
At the last election Mr Gerrard won the seat with a majority of 7,993 from the Lib Dems.
The Tories came third with 6,254 votes.
