A JAIL-BREAK from Colchester Castle will be attempted later this month by an officer of Epping Forest College.

Student manager Christine Goodwin and her two daughters Funmilayo Jegede, 27 and Tamsin Goodwin-Connelly, 21, will spend 24 hours on the run reting to get as far away as they can from their starting point in an attempt to raise funds for the Essex Air Ambulance.

Epping Forest College staff member Christine Goodwin and her two daughters Funmilayo Jegede, 27 and Tamsin Goodwin-Connelly, 21 are attempting to get as far away as possible from the prison without using any money.

Student Information and Funding Manager Christine said: "We hope to get very far away but our planned destination is a secret in case the police catch up with us."

The team of three will have 24 hours to make their great escape, and are hoping they will need their passport for the journey.

Ms Goodwin added: "We already have an offer to get us out of the country. Last year the team who got the furthest away ended up in Rome."

For proof of their journeys, participants must buy a local newspaper from the area and have their photo taken next to a local identifiable landmark.

Organised by charity Jailbreak, which raises money for the air ambulance, the task highlights the incredible work the service provides across Essex.

It can reach any part of the county within 20 minutes and transport a patient to the nearest hospital in just eight minutes, saving the lives of many critically ill patients.

Ms Goodwin said: "It's funded entirely by voluntary donations so I'm trying to do my bit to raise money and help a vital service continue with it's good work."
