TWO men have been arrested following the robbery of more than £8,000 from two young women in broad daylight.
The victims were delivering a cashbag with the takings from a nearby business to a bank on Wanstead High Street at 11.30am yesterday when they were approached by two large black men.
They were knocked to the floor and both assailants ran off down Wanstead Place and eventually into Chestnut Place with the money.
They were chased by several members of the public who kept sight of them until police arrived.
Two 19-year-olds were arrested and appeared at Redbridge Magistrates Court today charged with robbery.
Police are appealing for any witnesses who saw the robbery take place, and especially anyone who gave chase.
Any information should be directed to PC Scammell at Ilford Police Station on 020 8345 2760.
