A PUBLIC consultation on new stroke and major trauma care in the borough is set to begin on April 11.
To be held at Leyton Asda, Marshall Road, NHS Waltham Forest (primary care trust) chairman Cllr Afzal Akram will be present from 11am to 12pm to answer questions and listen to people’s views.
The consultation comes as concerns were raised over the future of Whipps Cross University Hospital, following its failure to become a designated emergency stroke centre.
A spokesman for NHS Waltham Forest said: “Together with Healthcare for London, all local NHS organisations will be engaging with our local communities to tell people about proposals for new, additional services to help save lives and reduce disability for people who suffer a stroke or major injury.”
The event is the first of two and will last from 10am to 5pm. The second event will take place at Selborne Walk, Walthamstow between 10am and 5pm on April 25.
