HE is the apprentice who said ‘you’re fired’ to Sir Alan Sugar. Chigwell entrepreneur Adam Freeman, who runs the loans website www.mrlender.com, dropped out of the hit TV show hours before it started, avoiding the media circus that was about to engulf his fellow contestants. Each week, Adam will give his verdict on how he thinks each of the candidates have performed.

THE BOYS PHILLIP TAYLOR: The star of this week's show. His enthusiasm towards the product was encouraging. He was easily the strongest member. He saved Debra’s bacon during the John Lewis pitch by jumping in when she was actually, for once, lost for words! Honourable of him to stick up for Lorraine in the board room.

JAMES MCQUILLAN: As project leader, he should have played more of a vital role in allowing the Home Multi-Tone, aka ‘Death Box’, to be developed - he should never have allowed it. He needs to listen more and talk less if he wants to stand a chance of becoming the next Apprentice. His skipping technique was looking good – maybe next year we will see him in The Contender?

HOWARD EBISON: Sometimes it’s about quality and not quantity, and this week Howard's contribution proved that – “Ben, I think you should stop slapping your ass during a sales pitch.” - Quality.

BEN CLARKE: It became apparent in this task that Ben is slightly delusional. Toned? Good choice to demonstrate the product? Best looking in the house? His product idea was not only rubbish, it looked awful and was the reason the team lost. On a positive note, though, he must have strong persuasive skills to get the others to have agreed to develop it! Shame he wasn’t fired.

NOORUL CHOUDHURY: His only input seemed to be three sit-ups while demonstrating the product to a potential buyer. He actually struggled on the third sit-up, though.

MAJID NAGRA: Was too laid back and should have got more involved with the task. He didn’t seem like he wanted to fight his cause in the board room. Shame he got fired as he would have injected some good humour to the coming episodes.

THE GIRLS YASMINA SIADATAN: Showed a lot of enthusiasm towards the task. Didn’t seem to like being told what to do by Debra, but then again, who would! She did well to conjure the figure of 20,000 units to John Lewis as that is what led to their response purchase of 10,000 units. She should of asked how long they wanted exclusivity for, and probably could have swung the purchase order to 20,000.

LORRAINE TIGHE: I was surprised Sir Alan praised her on the sales pitch – maybe because he didn’t see or hear it. It just goes to show that sometimes a product can sell itself even if the sales pitch is rubbish!

DEBRA BARR: Very straight talking as team leader and says what she is thinking - mostly without thinking. Got a bit over excited with her reaction to Yasmina's Asian advertising campaign – six million viewers, try and win the public vote – hmmmm. Fame or Apprenticeship, I wonder… MONA LEWIS: She was the right choice to demonstrate the Body Rocker. Showed good team spirit and seems to be a good team player. Laid low and played it safe this week.

KATE WALSH: Definitely the right choice to promote the finished product, although James opted not to use her image on the poster, which was a bad move. Her sales pitch was slightly withdrawn but I think even Sir Alan would struggle to sell the Home Multi-Tone.

KIMBERLY DAVIS: She should have shown more input in to the design of the Home Multi-Tone from a female perspective. It was blatantly clear she didn’t like the design and should have spoken up. Strong response to Debra back at the house - “Yes, you are actually being rude”. I think Kimberly will be one to watch out for in this series.

PAULA JONES: She must have been doing research down at the gym throughout this task or else - who knows what she was up to?
